If I Could Restart With A Different Instrument...

If I could chose a different instrument, I would chose the viola or the flute/piccolo. The viola has a rich, deeper sound, and since I play the clarinet, which is a wind instrument, I would want to try out a string instrument for a change. I also love orchestra music, which is romantic and dramatic, versus band music, which is often marches.

I would want to play the flute/piccolo because when I was first choosing an instrument, I wanted to play the flute. However, my sister convinced me to play the clarinet instead. While I’m glad I chose the clarinet, I also really want to learn how to play piccolo because it is such as small instrument, but it is extremely loud and is crucial in an orchestra. In order to play piccolo, I would need to learn how to play flute first.
